Career bitches and Dad days: time for a new way of working

2011 – What do waste of talent, environmental pollution , traffic jams, stress at work and in the family have in common? They come from a rigid way of working, based on the ‘rusty’ hierarchy of the industrial age. Right now we have to work till higher age, the government withdraws and traffic jams on all high ways, the need for flexibility is growing on all fronts. Time for New Ways of Work.

Impassioned plea for refreshing working life
The New Ways Work means a change in the old 9 – to-5 mentality. This not only will increase productivity and mutual trust, but also the possibility for talent development – both for career women and for caring fathers. But why is the New Ways of Working not yet brought in practice everywhere? asks Rose Wouters.

Roos Wouters takes us into her wonder about various feminist currents and her own struggle for femanisme. In candid manner she reports  her interviews with Hedi d’ Ancona (famous feminist), Ineke Hoekman (Microsoft ), Alexander Rinnooy Kan (former chairman of the Social and Economic Council) and Agnes Jongerius (former chair of the FNV, the Federation if trade unions). On journalistic and sometimes almost autobiographical way she describes the (im)possibilities of the New World of Work.
‘Career Bitches and dad days’ is a personal plea for workplace innovation of a passionate woman who finds that the world keeps stabbing in old patterns of organization, too long.
